About Us

Blooming Artist Studio dares to be different. We offer students and their families a place to unleash their inner artist! We are a safe welcoming studio for artists of all ages. 

Nora McCloskey is Blooming Artist’s founder and an Art History fanatic. She makes learning about famous artists and their styles a fun part of every studio lesson. She has shared her enthusiasm for the past 24 years, beginning in the basement of her home. Her studio quickly outgrew the basement and its second location in Rockledge, PA. This led to its current home in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. Blooming Artist Studio is an active part of the community, participating in such events as Art in the Park and Annual Art Exhibits.

Currently, Nora is the Art teacher at St. Cecilia School. Prior to that, she taught Art at St. Albert the Great and established the Art program at St. Martin of Tours. Through her portfolio prep instruction at the studio, Nora has had the privilege of assisting many students who go on to receive high school art scholarships and acceptance to art high schools. In all, Nora has 36 years of teaching experience.

With both children and adults, Miss Nora takes great pleasure in watching her students find their inner artist and create their own masterpieces in the fun and caring environment of Blooming Artist Studio.
